The Core Center functions by providing ongoing support for key faculty members in toxicology through the support of facility cores that are used on a collaborative basis for research efforts:
With the Core Center's direction and financial support, these facilities provide access to equipment and services that individual investigators would find cost-prohibitive to operate and maintain. Thus, the Core Center mechanism allows for cost-effective use of research funds by providing shared facilities, technical expertise, and practical training in areas of molecular toxicology.
