MECHANISMS OF DRUG TOXICITY

Program in Mechanisms of Chemical Toxicity as Applied to Drug Safety Prediction. The 2006-2011 Vanderbilt University Medical Center Research Enterprise Strategic Plan identified “must-do task 2” as linking the Center in Molecular Toxicology to the School of Medicine’s expanding programs in therapeutic discovery and translation. This proposed program would involve a joint effort between Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, the pharmaceutical industry, and possibly regulatory agencies to address the challenge of predicting the safety and toxicity of pharmaceutical candidates.
